GT Racer Road Bike for Sale or trade for hybrid

I just bought this road bike from a friend who is into cycling but I find that a hybrid would suit my cycling paths better. It was a $1000 new, he paid $600 on sale, and I paid him $300. I'm guessing that it's 6-7 years old. Sorry I don't know much technical stuff about bikes to provide much info here but happy to answer any questions.
